Spectator

Yet another chapter in why the Spectator isn't a Republican

The Spectator marvels at the unmitigated gall of the Bush-ites and the refusal of the mainstream media to call them on it. On July 31, Dick "Five Deferment" Cheney was to speak at a public school in New Mexico. Several local Democrats thought it might be a good idea to take in the goings-on and tried to get into the public school that their tax dollars paid to build and continue to operate to listen to their vice president, who was also paid to operate by their tax dollars. Not so fast, said the Bush-ites. First, you have to sign a loyalty pledge that you support George W. Then you can get into your school. How's that for balls? Worst of all, why do you have read about it in the Buffalo Report and not in the mainstream media? The Bush flunkies said the pledge was necessary to weed out anyone who might try to disrupt the speech. God forbid any of these cretins might actually have to think on their feet.

Karl Rove is one of those typical Republicans who will do anything to wage war in the world except join the military. But a headline in the Buffalo News says "Rove Says Kerry Sullies Vets." Kerry? John Kerry? The guy who enlisted to go to Vietnam and serve with heroism? That John Kerry is sullying vets? Incredible drivel coming from the mouth of another of the Bush chickenhawks who ain't gonna bleed but don't mind if your kids do.
